Great Exploration/Superior AmeriCorps
Great Explorations is available at CLK Elementary School after school and throughout the summer. There are several options for your child, ranging from after school tutoring to activities such as cooking, art, drama, etc. Academic enrichment occurs through exciting activities that expand rather than extend the school day including hands-on learning, homework help, tutoring, and field trips. Superior AmeriCorps: Serving to strengthen communities through youth education, volunteer recruitment, and the promotion of community service.
AmeriCorps is a national service program. People of all ages throughout the entire country serve to meet the nation's critical unmet needs in the areas of education, public safety, the environment, and other human needs. Superior AmeriCoprs is a 35 member team that helps our local community with education as its primary focus.
The CLK District site hosts 4 Superior AmeriCorps members this year. Member benefits include: $12,700 living allowance, eduction award of $4,725, Healthcare benefits, Education loan forbearance, Professional training and Childcare benefits (if eligible).
Each year, Superior AmeriCorps recruits a new class of members. Members must be at least 18 years of age, be able to commit to one year of service and have a high school diploma or GED. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Members begin service in early fall.
