| Washington Middle School is located in Calumet, MIchigan. Calumet is a small town located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. More specifically, Calumet is located in the Keweenaw Peninsula in an area known as the "Copper Country". Our area's rich history is based on the copper mining industry which flourished from the 1800's to the 1960's. During this time, Calumet was home to the great Calumet and Hecla Mining Company. In 1992, Calumet was designated by the National Park Service as a National Historic Park. We hope that you enjoy your visit to the WMS WebSite!
