CLK Elementary School Learning Plan - Term 4, April 6th - end of 2019-2020 School Year

This learning plan covers all of Term 4 from April 6th to the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

Though school is not in session traditionally, it is the goal of the Public Schools of Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw for all of our students to have educational opportunities that allow for academic skills to be maintained, or even advanced.

Online resources, books, and student packets are just a few of the educational opportunities being made available to our students. While a specific time commitment is not required, we hope that you will take a look at what is offered and will consider committing some part of your child’s day, where possible, for these educational activities. We aim to create an effective, independent learning plan for our students to sustain/advance their current level of learning. We are confident that with your partnership during this unprecedented time, CLK Elementary students will continue to thrive.

CLK Elementary will utilize our Learning Management System called Seesaw to deliver online content to your child(ren). The educational opportunities will include an introduction to distant learning. We will then post new educational opportunities every Monday of each week. If you need access to Seesaw, please contact your child’s teacher or the elementary school office at 906-337-0311, opt. 1, opt. 2. If you do not have good internet access or difficulties using your home computing device and would prefer a paper version of the activities, please contact the elementary school office.

Student Grades for Term 4

Students are expected to complete all activities assigned to them as teachers will be grading with either a P for Pass or I for Incomplete on each activity assigned. If a child receives an I for incomplete on an activity, the teacher will provide feedback to the student and the student will have an opportunity to resubmit the activity for a grade of P.

Special Education

The regular education learning plan for students will be found in Seesaw for each class. Your child’s special education teacher has reviewed these learning plans. If accommodations and modifications are necessary for your child to access learning during this time, your child’s special education teacher will reach out via email or phone. If you find your child is experiencing difficulty with the learning plan, please email your child’s special education teacher.

Chromebooks are available to be loaned out to families in need of computing devices at home in an effort to reduce the need for learning packets and provide access to the best method of learning in these circumstances.

If you are in need of a computing device for your elementary child(ren), please contact your teacher or the elementary office at 906-337-0311 opt. 1; opt. 2.
