At CHS we put students first. Our
curriculum is outstanding and diverse. Opportunities
range from Early College courses, where students can
earn college credit, to online learning, to traditional
classes taught in a hands-on project based setting.
Following the rigorous Michigan Merit Curriculum, all
students have the necessary courses available to
successfully earn a high school diploma.
We don't just focus on
curriculum. We focus on the whole student. Calumet High
School offers many clubs, organizations and athletic
opportunities for our student body. The North Star
Battalion is one of the oldest Junior ROTC programs in
the Nation and allows students to expand their
leadership while serving their community. We have
opportunities for students to volunteer and get involved
in the greater community in a positive way. Outside of
the classroom, our students take part in fourteen
different clubs and organizations along with eleven
athletic teams. The success of the Copper Kings in
competition starts with the success of our students in
the classroom.
Mission
The mission of Calumet High
School is to educate all students in a supportive,
challenging and disciplined environment to become
lifelong learners whose performance is a credit to
themselves and society.
Vision
Moving forward Calumet High
School will continue to strive for excellence in
providing all students with opportunities and support to
follow their dreams, explore new areas and support their
community.
We believe . . .
Student success is the
primary goal of the school. All students will be
given the opportunity to find success. Students will
be challenged to set and achieve goals that stretch
their talents. Student learning will take place in a
variety of ways. Student success will flourish in a
safe, supportive and positive environment. Student
achievement is directly related to positive
relationships with role models. Respect is vital
between all stakeholders. Every student is capable of
success. Students will be provided a well-rounded
education.
